    Before

Once nominated as an Erasmus KA171 student, you must apply through the Mobility tool for applicants at the UPV (as explained in the factsheet).

You can find the UPV English Academic Offer on the following link: UPV English Academic Offer

Once the UPV School has accepted you, we will send you the invitation letter for Visa purposes. It will include information such as the amount of money you will be receiving for your scholarship and the subjects chosen by you in the AIRE platform, along with its corresponding number of ECTS and academic hours. This letter is a requirement for obtaining a visa.

After you receive the invitation letter, you should immediately ask for an appointment at the nearest Spanish consulate. To study for one semester at UPV, you need a student visa (D-type visa).

You will also need a travel health insurance policy valid for the whole duration of your stay, which must meet the following requirements:

  • Healthcare that covers up to at least 50,000.00€ for accident or illness.
  • Transportation or repatriation to your country of origin in case of illness or accident.
  • Transportation or repatriation to your country of origin in the event of death, for an unlimited amount.
  • The policy must be written in English or Spanish.
  • Must have an Attention service in Spain, with instructions about what you must do and where to go in case you need to contact the company.
    • IF THE POLICY DOES NOT CONTAIN INFORMATION ON HOW INSURANCE CAN BE USED IN SPAIN, IT WILL NOT BE ADMITTED

The UPV has arranged a policy with two companies, which meets the minimum requirements. You can find information about the description of the coverage and contractual terms with the following link: UPV Insurance Information

The UPV facilitates a search engine to find accommodation in a shared apartment: Accommodation Search Engine

We recommend you not book your accommodation through advertisements on social networks, only through professional agencies or platforms.

VERY IMPORTANT: Two relevant documents must be fully signed before your departure:

  1. First, the Learning Agreement, signed by yourself and your home university. This document will agree to your academic activity during your stay at the UPV and guarantees that your home university will successfully accept all passed activities at the UPV.
  2. Secondly, the Grant Agreement, which will settle the scholarship’s economic conditions between you and UPV.

The IAO will provide the templates and assist you in filling them in.

The sending of the following documents before departure is also required:

  • Visa
  • Insurance
