FAQs – How to obtain a visa?

The study visa enables the foreigner to stay in Spain to complete a course, study, research, or training.

The application for the study visa will be processed through the BLS Company associated with the Spanish Consulate of the location of residence.

Applicants shall consult the BLS website to learn about the requirements and necessary documents, among others:

  • Valid passport for the entire period for which the visa is requested.
  • Letter of admission to a teaching centre.
  • A medical insurance that covers, during the whole time of your stay in Spain, the medical expenses and repatriation associated with an accident or a sudden illness.
  • The provision of livelihoods and accommodation for the period requested and, where appropriate, to ensure return to the country of origin.

In some cases, the consulate asks for the Learning Agreement as a requirement for the visa. If this is your case, you need to contact the school where you will study, and they will send you a scanned copy. If not, do not ask for it; you will sign this document once you arrive at the UPV, as it should be.
